This is an opportunity for highly motivated undergraduate students to experience the unique environment at one of Australia’s leading research institutes.
By spending between 8 and 12 weeks undertaking a focussed research project with AIBN you get:
- highly valuable research skills;
- access to some of the best facilities in the country;
- a stipend of $300 per week;
- career mentoring; and
- credit toward to your undergraduate degree in certain circumstances.
Internships will commence on 30 November 2009 and conclude in January or February 2010, depending on the length of your project. High achieving students (GPA ≥ 6.0) with an interest in pursuing a career in research are encouraged to apply.
AIBN’s research focuses on areas that will alleviate current problems in human health, manufacturing information technology and the environment. The Institute has a dynamic, multidisciplinary research environment with teams working at the interface of the biological, chemical and physical sciences. AIBN has research programs in the areas of:
- Nanotechnology-based imaging and drug delivery for therapeutic products;
- Nanotechnology for energy and environmental applications;
- Regenerative medicine, in particular biology, stem cells and novel scaffolds;
- Novel protein expression utilising metabolomics and systems biotechnology.
